A Mother's Story
In Hopes This Will Never Happen To Your Child
When a family loses a child the way our family lost our little girl, through a senseless, tragic reaction to a vaccine, and they are left to deal with the results, they are simply not prepared. We were not prepared for the agony that we have incurred as a result of Brittany's loss of quality of life. I was not prepared for the countless days and nights of agony, of walking the floor in pain and grief and crying tears till no more would come. Yet, this has been my life for the past seven and a half years, since Brittany became brain damaged at the age of five months.
When the hospital told me about Children's Charity Fund and the fact that such organization exists and would help us obtain the car seat we needed for our little girl, to be perfectly honest, I was amazed. I didn't think such an organization existed - but exist you do. And so on the Thursday before Christmas Eve a delivery van came to our door with the gift of the car seat from you. It goes without saying that we are grateful. But, even more important, it must be said that you are indeed a unique organization to come to the aid of people such as we - people who have lost some of the magic of life, due to the hardship of reality.
A Mother's Thank You
I just wanted to tell you how wonderful this winter is going thanks to the equipment you helped purchase for my son. My son has CP. We just went to the orthopedic yesterday for a regular check-up on my son's muscles which have a tendency to be extremely rigid. It looks like my son will be able to avoid surgery. Not only that but he said that if my son continues at this pace he may walk independently one day.
I am sorry that you could not be there to see these things and that is why I am sharing them with you. My hope is that tonight you will remember this letter and smile before you fall asleep. I hope that you feel warm and good inside like you have made our family feel.
